England based fly-half Josh Matavesi is the number 1 choice for the kicking duties when the Flying Fijian will take on Italy on Sunday morning.

Regular first five eight, Seremaia Bai has left for France and the coaching staff will rely on the 20 year old to deliver the results.

Last Saturday when Bai was sin binned, Matavesi kicked one of the penalties which allowed Fiji to be in touch with the Weslh team.

Manager Talemo Waqa has already confirmed that while the coaching staff will want to try out all of the players in this tour, there are also mindful of trying not to break the combination which saw them draw 16 all with Wales.

Waqa added that with Matavesi moving to the number 10 jumper his spot at fullback will go to either Dan Rawaqa or Norman Ligairi.

The Fiji and Italy game kicks-off on Sunday at 3am.
