More serious than allegations of Ballu Khan's involvement in an assassination plot is the fact that his constitutional rights are being violated.
These are the words of Pacific Centre for Public Integrity Director, Angie Heffernan who said that one's constitutional rights are very important seeing as the 1997 Constitution is also still in place.
Also the Former Opposition Leader Mick Beddoes said that the authorities must bring those guilty in the assassination plot to trial however he adds that in executing their work they cannot go around bashing the people and ignoring the accused person's rights.
These comments are in light of the Fiji Military Forces calling on everyone that is asking for Khan's rights to be respected, to understand the seriousness of the allegations leveled against him in relation to the plot to assassinate the Interim Prime Minister and others.
Military spokes-person Lt Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga earlier said that Khan is a New Zealand citizen who is allegedly trying to destabilize the country.
