Lawyers representing businessman Ballu Khan are expected to argue their grounds in the High Court this morning to try and secure their clients release from police custody.

Queens Counsel Peter Williams filed the documents in court on Friday and court officials confirm the case is set for arguments this morning.

It was confirmed earlier that Khan's lawyers have lodged papers claiming that he has been illegally detained by police since November 16th after he was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the assassination plot against the Interim Prime Minister and others.

The case is expected to be called this hour. Meanwhile, Khan has also file a lawsuit against the interim government for alleged wrongful confinement and is seeking $40 million in damages.
