As Businessman Ballu Khan still remains admitted at the Suva Private Hospital, his lawyer has today rejected claims that Khan is receiving special privileges.

In a statement, Graham Leung claims that Khan is admitted in hospital due to the extent of his injury he sustained from police and military brutality and his client has also been traumatized.

Leung also said that after taking expert medical opinion and consulting members of his family, a decision was made that the Suva Private Hospital has the best available medical facilities for medical treatment and care for his client.

According to Leung, Khan has been in medical detention and care for over a month and his movements are restricted and he is guarded around the clock by police who sit outside his room.

Leung said that his client is fully aware that he is a person of interest to the police and he will participate in the police interview process when he is 100% fit.

Meanwhile, Deputy Police Commissioner Eroni Antonio said that Khan will be taken in for questioning once he is released from hospital.
