The Fiji Institute of Accountants has confirmed that two key speakers for the annual conference have been withdrawn after a request by the police.

Organizing Committee chairman Sikeli Tuinamoana confirmed that lawyer Graham Leung and Professor Brij Lal were to speak at the conference, however, one of the conditions to allow the meet to go ahead was that the two speakers be withdrawn.

Tuinamoana also confirmed that they are still waiting for police to give the all clear on the speeches which would be delivered at the conference.

Assistant Director Police Operations SSP Erami Raibe confirmed that police will not be present at the conference to monitor what is being said as strict conditions have been set before the green light was given for the conference to go ahead.

The Accountant Congress was cancelled by the police earlier today but just hours later the green light was given for the meet with conditions set by the police.
