Key players of the Digicel Fiji 7s team were carrying niggling injuries during the USA 7s, but it was not an excuse for the side in their quarterfinal lost to Australia.
Trainer Max Hughes had confirmed that some players were injured in the New Zealand 7s tournament, but they carried out their assessment during their training session in Las Vegas and they were given the green light to play.
Hughes said the players recovered well during their preparation for the USA 7s but they were just not in the game most of the time.
He added one of their weaknesses was the fact that they underestimated their opponents.
The Fiji 7s team arrived home this morning and will take a one week break before they will prepare for the Australia 7s and Hong Kong 7s.
