It is certain that some key players in the Flying Fijians rugby team have secured their spot for next year’s World Cup in New Zealand.

With nine months left for head coach Samu Domoni Jnr to put together a 30-member squad that will carry Fiji’s hopes to the World Cup, some players displayed outstanding performances, particularly in the match against Wales.

The likes of captain Deacon Manu, lineout kingpin Ifereimi Rawaqa and Semisi Naevo together with Sisa Koyamaibole have proved in the game against France and Wales that they still have what it takes to play in top level rugby.

In the backline, Seremaia Bai, Albert Vulivuli, Vereniki Goneva, Gabby Lovobalavu and Josh Matavesi are in their best shape to make the cut for the World Cup.

Manager Talemo Waqa has confirmed that they will try to use all of their players in the last Test match against Italy on Sunday at 3am.

The Fiji team to play Italy on Sunday will be announced on Friday.
