New Zealand Prime Minister John Key is hoping that interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama will attend the special Pacific Islands leaders Forum meeting in Port Moresby later this month.
Key said the current flash flooding experienced in the country has weakened the economy and it is important for Commodore Bainimarama to be in the meeting.
He added that his government has eased a lot of restrictions on people travelling to New Zealand as he continues talking to Bainimarama.
Meanwhile Commodore Bainimarama will meet with Tongan Prime Minister Doctor Feleti Sevele this morning.
