Queensland Reds centre Samu Kerevi is being hailed as a hero after helping a woman who was being attacked by a man with a vacuum cleaner.
The hard‑running 23‑year‑old was driving with a cousin when they heard the woman’s cries for help from another car.
Kerevi says a man holding a weapon was standing over the woman, whose baby was in the car with her.
He managed to stop the man and saved the woman from being harmed.
After helping the woman to safety, Kerevi says the man then tried to attack him.
The man got closer and tried to crack a bottle but did not attempt to attack Kerevi.
They then saw the man ran away when they called the police.
