Kenya faces a major setback ahead of the NZ Sevens this weekend as star players Lavin Asego and Humphrey Kayange could not make the 12 member team because of study and work commitments.

Kenya Sevens coach Mike Friday has named his squad with Andrew Amonde to captain the side while Collins Injera makes a comeback after missing out in the last round in South Africa.

With their current form in the series Kenya is expected to top pool B which comprises of France, Argentina and Tonga.

The New Zealand 7s kicks off in Wellington this Friday with Fiji taking on Scotland at 1.50pm in its first pool match.

Fiji then takes on Australia at 4.46pm and the last pool match is against Portugal at 8.34pm.
