Keep teeth clean
Those were the sentiments of CWM Senior Dental Officer Dr Maher Angez who said once young people are out of school and reach the age of 21, many tend to forget about their health as they get busy with socializing and experiencing new things in life.
She said that smoking, drinking, not brushing their teeth twice daily and the consumption of unhealthy snacks creep in affecting teeth.
Dr Mehar said that out of the 2700 people surveyed during their dental survey around the country shows that 88% of 6 year olds have been found to have dental problems while there has been a clear trend for an increasing proportion of permanent teeth with tooth decays in the 35 to 44 year old age group.
Dr Mehar said that simple tips like brushing teeth twice daily, using a toothpaste containing floride, healthy snacking and visiting your dentist regularly should be followed to avoid dental problems.
