Everybody should play their part to see that Fiji is free from violent crimes and people feel safe inside their own homes.
This was highlighted by the former District Commissioner Western Semi Matalau who is now the Chairman of the Nausori Crime Prevention Committee.
Speaking at the Community Consultative Forum at the Nasova Police Academy this morning, Matalau said people should make an effort to see that the police are provided necessary assistance and information to curb criminal activities.
Fiji Women's Crisis Center Coordinator, Shamima Ali was also present at the forum.
She welcomed the move by the Police Force to engage members of the public and NGO's to help them in their decision making process.
The Fiji Police Force after its consultative forum will set the strategic plan for 2011 to 2015 which will also bestow ownership to members of the public for the way forward to build a nation that is safe and secure.
