The Fiji Court of Appeal Judge, Justice John Byrnes will make a ruling next week on whether to grant bail pending an appeal to convicted Navy Commander Francis Kean, who has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment.
Kean's lawyer Haroon Ali Shah said Judge Byrnes has granted an appeal to the sentence, and the date will be set tomorrow for an appeal hearing, which is likely to heard in February 2008.
The DPP was represented by Ashishna Prasad and Lt Colonel Mohamed Aziz from the military.
