Navy Commander Francis Kean's legal counsel, Haroon Ali Shah said he believes that the military should ensure his client retains his post even if he has to serve his 18 months sentence.
Shah said Kean will be a huge loss if the RFMF decides to let him go.
Meanwhile, Military Spokesperson, Lt Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga confirms their legal department has been looking into Kean's case and Military Legal Director, Colonel Mohammed Aziz is expected to make an official statement on Kean's status in the RFMF later today.
However, Lt. Colonel Tkoitoga said that they have to also consider the statement by Kean's lawyer, Haroon Ali Shah that they will appeal against the conviction.
