As the Public Service Commission scrutinizes applications for the Supervisor of Elections post this week, former Elections Supervisor, Semesa Karavaki has revealed that he will take legal action against the authorities for taking the step.
Karavaki is challenging President, Ratu Josefa Iloilo's decision to appoint the Constitutional Officers Commission as he said proper procedures was not followed.
Karavaki is also seeking declarations from the courts on the interim administration's decision to terminate a number of people appointed by the Constitutional Officers Commission prior to the events of December 5th, 2006.
Meanwhile Chairman of the Constitutional Officers Commission Rishi Ram said the process of appointing a Supervisor of Elections is underway despite Karavaki's statement.
