Team Fiji Karate returned home yesterday after a fired up performance at the Australian open competition.

Team Fiji returned with five gold, five silver and seven bronze medals.

A total of 450 athletes from Australia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Tahiti and Fiji took part in the three day event.

Karate Fiji's Secretary, Angela Birch said their athletes were provided with good competition and this will serve as an excellent build up to those Fiji athletes who are training for a spot for the Pacific games later this year.
