A total of 22 schools in the Suva district that were to compete in the Kaji rugby and Netball competition today, have had to cancel their annual meet as a result of poor ground conditions at the TFL Stadium.

The Fiji Sports Council confirmed that the grounds are very muddy due to the continuous rain over the week, and have decided to close the main ground today.

The Council also revealed that because of a rugby game that will be held at the stadium next week, between the Fiji A team and the visiting Tonga A team, they want to lift the standard of the grounds.

The rain coupled with the school Zone meets that have been happening has seen the ground condition worsen.

Meanwhile, the Suva Kaji Netball and Rugby organisers have postponed the tournament to a later date.
