Bad news for Chiefs rugby fans.

Richard Kahui has gone for the season due to an injury and Aaron Cruden is in doubt for this Friday's Super rugby match against the Highlanders.

Cruden has been troubled by achilles tendon problems.

Chiefs who sits top of the Super rugby points table need to win all its three remaining matches against the Highlanders, Crusaders and Hurricanes to maintain its lead and book a home semi-final.

The Chiefs and Highlanders match kicks off 7.35pm this Friday.
