Chiefs fans will be hoping centre Richard Kahui is pain free today.

The All Blacks centre completed the majority of yesterday morning's training, having missed the last fortnight with a hip injury.

Kahui described the injury as niggly and said it is not painful all the time.

He said everything felt good after a 90 minute run and there have been no problems doing ball skills but the real test is when it comes to contact training.

Kahui and Sione Lauaki, who has a hamstring injury, will both be assessed later today while Mils Muliaina is almost certain to miss another week with his back injury.

The Chiefs play the Force in Hamilton on Friday at 6:35pm.
