The Fiji Rugby Union has revealed that Dr Berlin Kafoa will take up the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer until May this year.
FRU Chairman Filimoni Waqabaca says they will reconsider the position in May after the board finalises all the issues regarding FRU.
Waqabaca confirmed that FRU has preferred a local to take up the post after they failed to meet the pay package offered by the overseas applicant earlier selected for the post.
Waqabaca also clarified that the CEO salary does not come from the IRB and it is solely paid by the FRU.
Meanwhile, Waqabaca highlights that FRU is trying its very best to reinstate its relationship with International Rugby Board.
