Police are investigating the alleged rape of a 35-year-old woman in Kadavu earlier this week.
According to Police, a 58-year-old captain of a boat went to drop off some children at an island when they encountered engine problems. The 35-year-old woman, who was also on board when the engine malfunctioned, had to spend a day on the isolated island where the alleged incident took place.
Meanwhile, Police have questioned and released 20 Chinese national who were caught gambling at a club last night.
Police Media Officer Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that officers from Transnational Crime Unit Strike-Back team and Major Crime Unit raided the third floor of Central Rental Building last night and confiscated $52,000.
Police are currently looking into both these cases.
