The Commissioner Eastern has raised serious concerns on the increase in crime committed within the Kadavu Province.
Colonel Ifereimi Vasu while addressing the members of the Kadavu Provincial Council said after sighting the police report for the province, he was concerned that crime in the province continues to gradually increase on a yearly basis.
Vasu called on the members of the council to work with the Police to maintain the law within the villages.
According to the Station Officer for Kadavu Police Station Viliame Soko, since 2007 they have seen a gradual increase in reported crimes.
He added that one of the crimes that is on the rise is the theft of yaqona which is a worry as it is robbing the livelihood for many people.
