The Bose Vanua of Kadavu are expected to meet this hour where they will first listen to the presentations from the GCC Taskforce, led by former chairman of Kadavu Provincial Council Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo and his team.

The chiefs’ meeting and their decision will determine where the Kadavu province will stand on the new GCC promulgation, 2008.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the GCC Review Taskforce and chairman of the Kadavu Provincial Council Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo was this morning voted out as chairman of the Kadavu Provincial Council.

Nawalowalo only received 6 out of the 31 votes during the election of the chairman at Jubilee Hall this morning.

Ratu Josateki told Fijivillage on Monday that he was confident in retaining the chairmanship of the Kadavu Council. Nawalowalo said his people know his track record and what he has already achieved within the province.

According to Nawalowalo, the people of Kadavu have already made a commitment on the proposed People's Charter and the new GCC legislation.
