New strategies and techniques are being utilized to ensure that the Digicel Fiji 7s team focuses on the importance of tackling hard and grabbing the ball off their opponents, discipline, patience and planned attacks.
With only one week remaining for the World Cup 7s, coach Alifereti Dere confirmed that the players are going through a number of judo and yoga sessions.
Dere knows that this will assist the team a lot in Russia.
Captain Lepani Botia said the judo sessions will work in their favour.
Vice Captain Vereniki Goneva loves the yoga sessions.
The Digicel Fiji 7s team has also started training at about 10pm to get used to the 8 hour time difference in Moscow.
Fiji will play Tonga at 12.28am next Saturday in their first pool match of the 7s World Cup.
We then take on Uruguay at 6.28pm next Saturday and Fiji’s last pool match is against Wales at 12.42am Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals start at 9pm Sunday, the Cup semis kick off at 12.40am Monday while the World Cup 7s final will start at 4.55am Monday.
