It has been confirmed that Acting Chief Justice Anthony Gates, Judge Justice John Byrnes and Judge Justice Davendra Pathik will shoulder the responsibility to determine the legality or otherwise of the events of December 5th 2006.

Village news has received confirmation that after much deliberation and consultations, it was decided that Justice Pathik be brought in to preside over the case, along with Justice's Gates and Byrnes in the case filed by ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase against the Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

It has also been confirmed that under the current laws, Judges of the High Court, who are permitted to act as Justices of Appeal, can also sit on the Supreme Court if called to do so.

The Supreme Court sits tomorrow to hear opening arguments from both counsels.
