High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar has ordered the review of a driving under the influence case involving a DPP official.

Justice Goundar in ordering the review said that the sentence handed down to the accused, Tevita Toloi was unfair as Toloi only had his driving license suspended while two other people also arrested for the same offence were fined and had their licenses suspended.

In Court today, Justice Goundar highlighted that everyone was equal before the law whether or not they were employed by Government.

Toloi had earlier appeared before Magistrate Kaweendra Nayankkara on the 15th of this month and had his license suspended.

Toloi along with two others were charged with driving under the influence of liquor early this month in Suva.

The matter has been set for a review before Justice Goundar on the 19th of next month.
