High Court Judge Justice Filimoni Jitoko has granted 14 days to the State to reply to Laisenia Qarase's affidavit against the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo and the 2 Chairs of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF) Commodore Frank Bainimarama and Archbishop Petero Mataca to stop work on the proposed People's Charter.

Solicitor General Christopher Pryde and Archbishop Mataca's lawyer Michael Benefield told the court that they should be given a time to respond.

Qarase's lawyer Niko Nawaikula said there is a urgency to deal with the case since the work of the Charter is still continuing.

Justice Jitoko reminded Pryde and Benefield that they should strictly abide by the 14 days given and reminded Nawaikula to respond after 7 days before the arguments on the case starts on the 6th of November.
