These are the words of academic, historian and one of the editors of the John Hunt 1847 Fijian Translation of the New Testament Books of Luke, John and Acts, Dr Andrew Thornley at the book launch today in Davuilevu.
Thornley said John Hunt's version is more faithful to the original Greek and is a link that people have with the first generation of converts and the Fijian that they used.
Co-editor Tauga Vulaono said there are notable differences in John Hunt=s version compared to the one used today.
Right now there are just 200 hundred copies that are available for sale at reasonable prices.
