All Blacks prop Ben Franks is not enjoying the new slim line Adidas jerseys and said they are not ideal for a scrummaging front row.

Franks said while the skintight jerseys were not solely to blame for scrum problems, they were making it difficult for the forwards to bind.

Franks said for a loose head it is a lot harder to get that initial bind and there is nothing really to grab, meaning you are grabbing for skin.

The scrum has been a major focus for referees at the Rugby World Cup.

The All Blacks play Canada at 2.30pm this Sunday.
