Australian Golfer Steven Jeffress has won the Fiji International Golf Championship by finishing with a score of 10 under par and with total points of 278.

Jeffress has won himself prize money of $180,000 US dollars and finishing in second place is Jake Higginbothem with a score of 6 under par with total points of 282.

Jeffress said that he was surprised with the outcome of today’s competition round and he would like to come back for more competitions in Fiji.

However, Fijian born golfer Vijay Singh finished 10th in the overall standings after today’s competition.

Singh scored a 2 over par and shed with a total competition point of 290.

Meanwhile, Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the tournament thanked all the sponsors and contributors which had made the Fiji Golf International Championship possible.

Sayed-Khaiyum also said that initiatives such as the Fiji Golf International help promote Fiji as a Tourism hub in the pacific.
