As the Central Division tackles one of its biggest problems - Jaywalking, the Sugar City is following step and ensuring that there is no reason for jaywalking.

So far, LTA along with Police have been out in force in the Capital, patrolling the streets and booking people for not following simple road crossing rules.

And the Lautoka City Council is looking at providing more foot crossing as part of their jaywalking operation.

Special Administrator Pravin Bala said they have found out that there is a need for more new crossings in the City especially near super market and bus stands.

Meanwhile, Bala added they are looking at installing more street lights but this time they are eyeing solar street lights.

He said they are talking to the suppliers and are looking at installing 16 solar street lights soon.
