Hopes are high in the Jasper Williams High School athletics camp that their star athletes will be fully recovered by tomorrow.
Mereseini Naidau who won gold in the 3,000 and 1,500 metres last year is still recovering from an injury while Mereseini Vukici who also won two gold medals in the Inter girls 400 and 800 metres is still sick.
Jasper Coach Antonio Raboiliku said the two athletes have been sitting out during training.
Raboiliku said they have been doing the hard yards and now the onus is on the athletes to defend their title.
Yesterday Pernix Fiji Limited presented the Jasper Williams athletes with new uniforms and sports kit at the value of $10,000.
The defending girls champions will be fielding 55 athletes in the Coca Cola games.
Meanwhile, Yasayasa Moala College won the boys division in the Maritime Zone yesterday with 12 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze followed by Yasawa high school with 9 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze.
In the girls division Yasawa high school finished first with 7 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze, Koro high school was second with 3 gold and 2 silver while Gau secondary third with 1 gold and 1 silver.
The Coca Cola Games starts this Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
