Japan 15's rugby coach John Kirwan will be out to end his side’s 14 year losing streak against the Flying Fijians in Sunday night's Pacific Nations Cup (PNC).

The last time Japan beat Fiji 20-8 was in 1994 which was there only second win against the national side in the last 9 test matches the two teams have played against each other.

Last year in the PNC at Churchill Park Fiji beat the Cherry Blossoms 30-15 while in the Rugby World Cup they came close to scoring an upset win but the Fiji defense stood their ground for a 35-31 win.

Speaking to Fijivillage as the side gets ready to wrap up their preparations this afternoon, assistant coach Reverend Joji Rinakama said the players have watched the Japan and Tonga game last week and they know what to expect from the host.
