Jalal’s case adjourned
Jalal who is one of the Directors of Hook and Chook restaurant was served with the charges on New Years day whilst holidaying in Nadi.
Her partner and former AFL Chief Executive Officer Sakiusa Tuisolia is also facing similar charges.
It is alleged that on two separate occasions within a year, Suva City Council Health Inspectors visited the restaurant and under the Public Health Act, ordered them to cease all illegal operations which the two allegedly did not follow.
Jalal who is represented by Devinesh Sharma and Pravanesh Sharma asked for more time to look at the disclosures so that they can advise their client on what plea to be taken.
Devinesh Sharma also informed the court that there were some issues relating to the charges.
FICAC stated that they will be making an application for the matter to be transferred to the High Court.
Magistrate Kaweendra Nayankkara has adjourned the case to the 28th of this month.
