Solomon Islands Police Commissioner Jahir Khan is expected to find out next week whether he is still the Police Commissioner after the person who appointed him, Manasseh Sogavare was voted out as Prime Minister last night.
Speaking from his Sigatoka home yesterday, Khan said he briefed his officers to maintain law and order in the Solomons before taking his leave earlier this week.
Opposition members criticised Khan's decision to go on leave when the country was awaiting Sogovare's fate yesterday.
Meanwhile, Solomon Islands Attorney General Julian Moti could be extradited to Australia within weeks.
