Fiji is estimated to have 115,000 cars and according to the statistics bureau 6,312 cars were newly registered in 2006.

Due to this, there are a lot of needs to maintain these cars.

These were the words of JICA Chief Representative Juichiro Sasaki at the official handing over of 18 motor vehicle engines to training institutions.

This included the Fiji National University, Training Productivity Authority of Fiji, Monfort Technical Institute, Labasa Arya Secondary school, Penang Sangam High school and Ratu Kadavulevu School.

Sasaki said the donation is to assist the training of youths to be capable of maintaining cars.
