It’s good to be home - Delana
After a long trip from London to Sydney and now to Fiji, Delana received the warmest welcome at the Nadi and Nausori International Airport.
Delana now awaits a big celebration that has been planned for tomorrow and the Nadrala villager said he wants to enjoy these moments to the fullest as this is the most happiest time of his life.
Students braved the rain as they marched from outside the Nadi International Airport arrival lounge with an ardent rugby supporter commonly known as Bu Kini.
Bu Kini was holding a Fiji flag and a small banner which read “I love Iliesa Delana”.
Fijivillage also spoke to some fans at the airport.
Delana is currently resting at the Holiday Inn.
Tomorrow, the Fiji Police Band and Police Guards will escort Delana through the main streets of Suva where the march will end at Albert Park at 9.30am before Delana is taken to the Vodafone Arena for the celebration.
Delana will be joined by students from schools within Suva, members of the Digicel 7s Rugby team, Fiji Olympians and students from special schools.
At the Vodafone Arena, Delana will be received by a 50 man Guard of Honour, followed by a full Fijian ceremony of welcome where President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau will make a brief speech.
The government is calling on all Fijians to join the celebrations at the Vodafone Arena.
Meanwhile, Digicel Fiji’s Head of Marketing Sheryl Singh said they will reveal their reward for Delana after tomorrow’s celebration as they need to hold talks with him.
