Chairman of the Wages Council Father Kevin Bar said its foolish to blame the workers for the low productivity level in Fiji.
According to Bar, the low level of productivity is due to the fact that some workers are not properly paid and majority of them earn well below poverty line.
A report launched last Friday shows that an average of 7 years from 2000 to 2006 the labor productivity growth averaged at about a low of 0.05 percent.
Meanwhile the new wage order, which was earlier approved by the wages council, has been deferred until June this year.
