The party that led Fiji between 1992 to 1999, Soqosoqo ni Vakavulewa ni Taukei or the SVT, is unlikely to exist as a party under the country’s laws from next month as it is not actively functioning and its former leader Sitiveni Rabuka has also announced that he has stepped out of politics.

SVT is one of the 16 registered parties at the moment.

1987 coup leader and former Prime Minister Rabuka said SVT should just accept its demise as it can no longer continue in its original form.
