The Fijian Teachers Association maintains that it will not be wise for students to be in school tomorrow especially those schools that have FTA members.
FTA president Tevita Koroi said he is not disputing the fact that the powers to close any school is with the Ministry of Education but they should understand that during a strike the teachers will not be in schools to perform their normal duties.
FTA members will walk away from their classroom at 8am tomorrow.
Meanwhile Interim Education Minister, Netani Sukanaivalu has made it clear that any closure of the schools will be decided by the Permanent Secretary for Education, not the FTA.
