With rental costs amounting to the same value as for the repayment of the loan for the construction of the new Fiji Police Headquarters, it will be worthwhile as in the end the building will belong to Government.
Those were the words of Defense Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau at the signing the MOU at Fijian holdings office who said at present the Fiji Police Force occupies three separate offices in the Suva Nausori corridor at a total cost of $1.3million per annum.
Ratu Epeli said this same amount has been calculated in the repayment of the loan.
He added this project is in accordance with the Government's Cost cutting initiative, and under the agreement they will be given 20 years to pay back the loan.
The twin tower Police complex is estimated to cost $20 million and construction is expected to start in the 3rd quarter of 2010 and will be located at the corner of Malcolm and Selbourne Street in Suva.
