Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama and his wife, Mary were also welcomed at the Games Village earlier today and the Fiji flag was then raised at the village.
Meanwhile Fiji 7s wing, Samisoni Viriviri will have added motivation after his wife gave birth to a baby girl yesterday afternoon.
Viriviri’s relative, Vika Rokotakala said Viriviri kept on calling from Chile when his wife went into labour at around 1am Tuesday.
Viriviri’s daughter, Vikaili Qili Nasagavesi Viriviri is named after Viriviri’s mother.
