The Fiji Football Association said Sani Issa had a valid International Transfer Certificate and complied with all Fiji FA requirements to play for the Ba soccer team.

Fiji FA CEO Bob Kumar said it is not their responsibility to inform the immigration department about transfer of players from one district to another but the Ba Soccer Association or Issa himself should have done it.

Issa was removed from the country on Monday.

Director Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa confirmed that Issa's visa expired earlier this month.

Vuniwaqa said Suva soccer had applied for Issa's visa in October last year and he should have been playing for Suva.

Vuniwaqa added that this breaches Issa's terms and conditions of visa and according to that, removal procedures were followed to remove him from the country.

Ba soccer President Rishi Kumar confirmed that Issa has gone to Nigeria to get his passport renewed as his passport book is full.

Kumar said Issa will also meet his family and celebrate Eid and will be back for the next National Football League season which starts in September.
