With visitor arrivals expected to pick up, a local island cruise operator is hoping that the storm has passed after experiencing the worst six months in over 13 years of operations.
General Manager of Captain Cook Cruises, Commander Semi Koroilavesau said low visitor numbers and increased operational costs had pushed local cruise operators to the brink of shutting down.
And Koroilavesau said they cannot directly pass on the increased costs to visitors.
He is confident that the island cruise operators will bounce back as predictions are that visitor numbers will increase from now till December.
