Digby Ioane will play his 50th game for the Queensland Reds when he returns from suspension at outside centre in the team's round 10 clash against the Blues in Auckland tonight.

Ioane returns from a five week suspension and is one of two key backline figures returning to the match day squad with centre Anthony Faingaa recovering from a foot injury to earn a place on the bench.

According to coach Ewen McKenzie, Ioane has been training like a man possessed during his suspension and is raring to go.

Meanwhile Blues Coach Pat Lam is invoking the Anzac spirit as he tries to arrest a slump that has left them at the bottom of the table.

The Blues head into tonight's game with one win and seven losses which includes an unbroken run of five defeats.

While it would be easy for an air of resignation to develop, Lam said the message of not giving up came through when a senior Army officer spoke to the Blues at an Anzac Day remembrance event.

In form prop Tony Woodcock has been ruled out due to a calf injury and is being replaced by Tevita Mailau.

In the lone Super Rugby match this evening the Reds will meet the Blues at 7.35.
