Rewa Rice Limited is optimistic that the local rice industry will be able to stand on its feet again as Australian investors intend to start large scale rice farming in Dreketi.
Chairman Peter Mawi said they had a meeting with these investors and they also showed them the site where commercial rice farming can be done in Dreketi.
Mawi added the investors have also shown interest in helping Rewa Rice Limited, however, details have not been revealed.
Meanwhile, Fiji Trade and Investment Bureau chairman Francis Narayan said an agreement between all parties is expected to be reached soon.
