The rice industry in Fiji has received some good news as an investor has already started doing large scale rice farming in Dreketi.

Simon Singh, who is formerly of Fiji, was residing in America for the last couple of years and is back in the country to revamp the industry which has been facing numerous challenges recently.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Singh revealed that he is currently working on 150 acres of land in Dreketi and has already invested more than $180,000.

According to Singh, he expects to produce more than 150 tonnes of paddy but this will increase later as he is looking for more land to do rice farming.
