A senior fire investigator from Suva has been called in to investigate the fire at MH Supermarket located at Main Street Nadi, a fire which could have proven disastrous for the jet Set Town.
The National Fire Authority said they were alerted by the Police about the fire at around 5 o'clock this morning.
The fire which is believed to have started from the bulk store was quickly controlled from spreading to other parts of the bulk store and other parts of the double storey building and adjacent businesses.
The bulk store situated on the top floor of the building contained flammable liquids including liquor, aerosol cans and chemicals.
The fire fighters managed to save the storage area, supermarket and cafeteria located on the ground floor of the building.
Investigations continue into the matter.
