A number of people have been questioned and released as police continue investigations into the discovery of a controlled substance which was found in a container in Lautoka on June 23rd.

Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said investigations are still underway and the Lautoka based company which consigned the container had also been questioned.

The container was suspected to contain a controlled substance under Fiji's Illicit Drugs Act.

The Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority earlier confirmed that the interception had been part of a joint intelligence operation between Customs and the Police Trans-National Crime Unit.
