Labasa Police have completed investigations in relation to the death of a 4 day old baby at the Labasa hospital two weeks ago.
Crime Officers said the file had been forwarded to the DPP's Office for assessment and a progress report is expected soon.
According to Crime Officers it is not clear at this stage if Police will further pursue the case or the matter will be handed to the Public Service Commission.
Police at this stage have not revealed the reason behind the death of the baby.
The four day old baby died after he was allegedly given two injections by a nurse while his mother was breastfeeding her.
